Financial Grants and Other Assistance Available to Local 22 Referral Members
To give you some history as to how this fund came to fruition:
Some years ago a member of Local 22 passed away suddenly. He left behind his wife and two children. That alone would be tragedy enough for most families. As it turned out, the departed was the sole provider of health insurance for his family. His wife is also a cancer survivor and could not acquire health insurance from another plan. The family needed financial help to keep their health insurance with Local 22. Generous members of Local 22 passed the hat and collected a good portion of what was needed.
This is where the idea for the fund was born.
Then President Chuck Clay worked with our attorneys for a 501c3 status so donations to the fund could be tax deductible. It took some time but we achieved our goal of having this fund.
Unfortunately there will come a time when a tragic emergency can befall any one of us. Any Local 22 Member can apply to the Fund for help with any emergency.
I know our members always come together as the need arises to help. We now have the ability to donate to a fund that can directly benefit you or your brother/sister.
You can send donations anytime to the Secretary/Treasurer for a tax deduction.

Union Plus is a nationwide AFL-CIO organization that offers help to any Union member. Their website has sections for all kinds of financial assistance, from mortgage assistance to hospital bills, even an inexpensive credit card program only for Union members. Some sections are references and online advice, and also included are many links and phone numbers to counseling services and expert help.

Behind the Scenes, A Project of the ESTA Foundation, provides financial support to entertainment technology industry professionals when they are ill or injured. Individuals and organizations contribute money to the program, and Behind the Scenes provides grants for emergency situations. With this initiative, our industry can make sure our colleagues are cared for when tragedy strikes.

The Actors Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Actors Fund assists those working in theater, film, television, radio, music, dance, opera and circus. It assists performers as well as those who work behind the scenes. The Fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. The Fund also makes emergency grants for essential needs.
