ETCP Certifications for Riggers and Electricians









PLASA (formerly ESTA, now merged with PLASA), through its certification organization, ETCP, or Entertainment Technician Certification Program, has established 3 nationally recognized certifications:
Entertainment Electrician
Arena Rigging
Theatre Rigging

There is a link for the Practice Exams, which you can order for $35/each and access online for a period of a month.

There are links to several articles that explain the certifications, and answer common questions re the exams, i.e.:

There are links for Exam Applications for Paper/Pencil Exams onsite, which you can use on occasions when Local 22 or another Local has set an exam to be given locally.
There is also a link to an agreement at the Washington State Convention Ctr. in Seattle which is specifying Certified Riggers. It's an example of what may be the future.
