Pulte Homes is a publicly-held holding
company whose subsidiaries engage in the
homebuilding and financial services
businesses. Pulte Homes is a Michigan
corporation, headquartered in Bloomfield
Hills.
Its direct subsidiaries include Pulte
Diversified Companies, Del Webb Corporation and
other subsidiaries engaged in the homebuilding
business.
Pulte Diversified’s operating
subsidiaries include Pulte Home
Corporation. Pulte also has a mortgage
banking company, Pulte Mortgage LLC, which is a
subsidiary of Pulte Home
Corporation.
In residential homebuilding, Pulte has
approximately a four percent market share
nationally. In 2006, the company
delivered nearly 41,500 homes in 27 states and
52 markets. The company’s two most
important markets are Phoenix and Las
Vegas.
In 2006, these were the only markets for
the company that exceeded 10% for unit
settlements, and settlement revenues.
Moreover, Phoenix was the only market to
exceed 10% in net new
orders.
Home sales at Pulte’s Del Webb “active adult” communities account for 44% of the company’s overall total. Pulte is the nation’s largest builder of active adult communities for people age 55 and up. At present, Del Webb has communities open for sale or in development in 20 states from coast to coast. Del Webb has positioned itself to benefit from the estimated 78 million baby boomers who’ll be retiring in the near future.
