About the
Film
It's November 1999, and
five days are about to rock the world as tens
of thousands of demonstrators take to the
streets of Seattle to protest the World Trade
Organization's meetings. Among them are Django
(André Benjamin), Sam (Jennifer Carpenter),
Lou (Michelle Rodriguez) and Jay (Martin
Henderson). Each has a unique story, but
they're united in a common desire to be heard
and to make a difference in the world. When
50,000 union members led the charge on a rainy
November 30, 1999 in Seattle to speak truth to
the power of the world’s biggest
corporations, history was made. A devastating
plan to expand the WTO’s power and the reign
of corporate globalization over our lives was
derailed. An all-star cast, including Charlize
Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Michelle
Rodriguez, Martin Henderson, Andre Benjamin and
Channing Tatum celebrates that labor victory
when Steelworkers and Teamsters, Longshoremen
and the trades joined together with
environmental and social justice activists to
make their voices heard.
