The Los Angeles Chapter took part in phone banking to get out the vote against Governor Schwarzenegger's attack on labor.
APALA member Ted Lieu was elected to the California Assembly. He captured 60 percent of the vote in the 53rd District election and avoided a November runoff in the race to replace late Assembly Member Mike Gordon. Previously, Lieu was elected to the Torrance City Council in 2002 and served on the City’s Environmental Quality & Energy Conservation Commission.
