Remembering Workers Lost In, Around and Outside the Workplace

 

Lead by the AFL-CIO, Workers in Rochester Will Join Thousands Across the Country to Honor Workers’ Memorial Day

 

(Rochester, NY) On Monday, April 28, 2008, beginning at 5pm at the Workers’ Memorial in Highland Park, Rochester, NY (near the intersections of South Avenue and Highland Avenue), workers and families from the Rochester area will gather to remember those lost on, around and outside the workplace.

 
Confirmed speakers and guests will include: Rochester & Genesee Valley Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO President, Jim Bertolone; State Senator, Joe Robach; Monroe County Minority Leader, Harry Bronson; Allan Richards on behalf of State Assembly Labor Chair, Susan John; Pastor George Nicholas; the UAW Color Guard.

 
Please join us for a celebration of workers rights, and remembrances of those lost due to workplace safety and violence concerns.
