Surplus
As many
of you are no doubt aware, Verizon has once
again announced a surplus of 12,000
employess. The 2008 Memorandum of
Understanding included the following provision

Verizon Corporate Profit Sharing
Award
Article 17 of the Verizon
General Agreement explains the Corporate Profit
Sharing Plan.
For the plan year 2009, the CPS
payout is $770.00.
The payout, under the terms of
Article 17, will take place on March 5,
2010. | |

Beirne Foundation Scholarship
Program
|
Fifteen partial college
scholarships of $3,000 each are being offered
for the 2010-2011 school year. Winners,
selected in a lottery drawing, also will
receive second-year scholarships of the same
amount contingent upon satisfactory academic
accomplishment. Part-time students, less
than 12 credits, will receive half of the
scholarship monies.
Eligible for the awards are
CWA members and their spouses, children and
grandchildren, including those of retired or
