President's Message |
The time for us
as an organization of professionals to pull
together and unify for the enhancement of our
members is more than apparent. Do you
realize all the new initiatives and changes
that have been implemented since the beginning
of this school year and the added
responsibilities and demands placed on you?
Just recently, I reflected upon these
changes and I hope you will too. When I
took the time to reflect and list the major
initiatives of this school year that have had
an effect on my position as Principal, I had a
list of fourteen (14). These are
added demands and responsibilities being placed
on you above and beyond your daily
undertakings. Although, I know all of you
will embrace these challenges and do what we
always do, please remember you are not alone;
seek out your colleagues and your Association
to help you through any adversity. Now is
the time for us to strengthen our resolve and
begin to communicate. This communication
process should be ongoing to gather
information, ideas, and strategies to improve
upon ways to protect ourselves and our jobs and
also find ways to enhance our working
environment. Your input is invaluable.
If you need to correspond with the
Association via email, our email address
is (asasp@asasp.org). I ask
all of you to keep us informed and to give us
your input so that we can
assist.
We have developed this website to provide our members messages from the President, updates, information and hopefully correspondences from other members. It is in its formative stage and we encourage your input.
In closing, I wish to thank
you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as
your President. I am looking forward to
meeting the challenges of this position and I
assure you that I will strive to enhance the
effectiveness of our
Sincerely,
James Smallwood
